What is Python ?

Python is high level programming language and is used for general purpose. Python can be used for developing websites, GUI applications and web applications. Python allows you to focus on core functionality of applications. It is open source i.e. it is free to use, even for industrial use. Python is considered as scripting language and is often used for creating Web applications and dynamic Web content.

Applications of Python :

1. Web Development : 

Python can be used for development of web applications because many frameworks have been introduced which support python for web development. Such as Django, Flask, Web2py, CubicWeb, Grok, pylons and many more.
  

2. Game Development :

Python is also used in development of games (interactive games). Many libraries are available such as PySoy which is a 3D game engine supporting Python 3, Pygame a library for game development. Games such as Civilization-IV, Disney’s Toontown Online, Vega Strike etc. have been built using Python. 

3. Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence :

Machine learning is a type of artificial intelligence (AI) that provides computers with the ability to learn without being explicitly programmed. Machine learning focuses on the development of Computer Programs that can change when exposed to new data. 
Machine Learning libraries are : TensorFlow, Theano, PyTorch, OpenCV, Chainer, Dlib and many more.
Python has a standard library in development, and a few for AI. It has an intuitive syntax, basic control flow, and data structures. It also supports interpretive run-time, without standard compiler languages. This makes Python especially useful for prototyping algorithms for AI. 

4. Data Science and Visualization :

As we all know data is money and if you know how to extract relevant information which can help you find calculated risks and outcomes. Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy help you in extracting information. 

5. Desktop GUI :

It can be used for development of GUI desktop applications. provides the Tkinter library that can be used to develop user interfaces.

6. Audio and video applications :

Python can be used to develop applications that can multi-task and also output media.
